Internship Activities

1. Orientation & Safety Training

  • Introduction to IASTM tools (scrapers, blades, edges).

  • Sterilization, hygiene, and patient safety guidelines.

  • Contraindications & precautions.

2. Understanding Soft Tissue & Biomechanics

  • Basics of fascia, muscles, and connective tissue.

  • Mechanism of scar tissue breakdown and tissue healing.

  • Indications for IASTM therapy.

3. Techniques & Tool Handling

  • Correct grip, stroke, and angle of IASTM instruments.

  • Different strokes (sweeping, fanning, cross-friction).

  • Pressure control and patient feedback.

4. Practical Training

  • Supervised practice on volunteers/patients.

  • Application for common conditions:

    • Neck & Shoulder Stiffness

    • Back Pain & Sciatica

    • Tennis Elbow & Carpal Tunnel

    • Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Tendinitis

  • Combining IASTM with stretching & rehab exercises.

5. Case Studies & Documentation

  • Each student maintains 5–10 patient case files including:

    • Patient details & diagnosis

    • Tools used & technique applied

    • Duration & frequency

    • Patient’s progress & feedback

6. Observation & Supervision

  • Mentor corrects tool handling, stroke depth, and posture.

  • Guidance for improving clinical outcomes.

7. Professional & Ethical Training

  • Patient communication and consent.

  • Pain monitoring and safety measures.

  • Clinical professionalism and record-keeping.

8. Final Evaluation & Certification

  • Practical test: Student demonstrates a complete IASTM session.

  • Submission of case study file.

  • Award of Internship Completion Certificate in IASTM Therapy.
Qualification Criteria: Only students who have successfully completed the Diploma in IASTM Therapy (D.IASTM) are eligible for this internship.
Internship Available City:
Internship Certificate: After successful completion of the internship, students will be awarded an Internship Completion Certificate in IASTM Therapy.
