Chapter 2 Meaning of Sujok and Its System Structure
Meaning of Su jok and Its System Structure
Sujok is a Korean term composed of two words:
Su = Hand
Jok = Foot
Thus, Sujok literally means “treatment through hands and feet.”
According to Dr. Park Jae Woo, the entire human body is reflected in miniature form on our hands and feet. Every organ, gland, or joint has a corresponding point.
Structure of Sujok Therapy
Sujok Therapy is not just point-based—it is a structured healing science with multiple systems:
1.Correspondence System:
This is the base system where the hands and feet are treated as small maps of the entire body. Stimulating these points gives direct effects on corresponding organs.
2.Six Ki Energy System:
This system classifies energy into six types — Heat, Cold, Dryness, Humidity, Wind, and Neutral. Imbalance among these energies causes diseases.
3.Triorigin Theory:
A higher dimension theory in Sujok, based on three universal forces — Hetero (active), Homo (passive), and Neuto (neutral). It connects to emotional and spiritual healing.
4.Byol Meridian System:
Energy meridians are present in the hands and feet (different from traditional Chinese meridians), which can be stimulated using needles, seeds, magnets, or color.
Why Learn Sujok?
It is based on the natural design of the body.
It is safe, with no side effects.
It promotes healing and prevention both.
