Chapter 3 Correspondence System: The Body Map on Hands and Feet
Correspondence System: The Body Map on Hands and Feet
The Correspondence System is the foundational concept of Su jok Therapy. It means that each part of the human body is represented (reflected) on the hands and feet.
Dr. Park Jae Woo discovered that the hands and feet are miniature representations of the body. Every organ—brain, heart, stomach, liver, spine, legs—is mapped onto specific areas on the palms and soles.
Body Map on the Hand (Hand Correspondence System):
| Body Part | Location on Hand |
| Head | Tip of the thumb |
| Neck | Base of the thumb |
| Chest | Upper palm |
| Abdomen | Middle of palm |
| Waist | Lower palm |
| Legs | Wrist line |
| Spine | Central palm to wrist |
These will be shown in detail through diagrams in the next chapters.
Body Map on the Feet (Foot Correspondence System):
- Toes represent the head
- Heel represents lower back/pelvis
- Sole of foot corresponds to internal organs
When a part of the body is in pain, stimulating the corresponding point on the hand or foot can bring quick relief.
Example:
Headache? Press the tip of the thumb = relief in minutes.
🪡 Treatment Tools:
- Seeds (like fenugreek, black pepper)
- Magnets (bipolar therapy)
- Moxa (heat stimulation)
- Colors (color therapy)
