History and Development of Sujok
History and Development of Sujok
Sujok Therapy was founded by Professor Park Jae Woo in the 1980s in Korea. He developed this healing method by combining traditional medicine concepts with modern scientific knowledge.
Professor Park discovered that the hands and feet contain a microcosm of the entire body. By understanding this, one can treat various ailments by stimulating specific points on the hands and feet. He named this therapy “Sujok,” where “Su” means hand and “Jok” means foot.
Sujok Therapy quickly gained worldwide popularity due to its simplicity, safety, and effectiveness. It is used not only for physical ailments but also for treating mental stress and emotional imbalances.
Over time, many techniques have evolved within Sujok Therapy, such as:
- Seed Therapy
- Moxibustion Therapy
- Magnet Therapy
- Color Therapy
